The final phase of the 2019 FEI Jumping World Challenge was held at the National Equestrian Centre on Saturday.

The 2019 FEI JWC comprised of three separate jumping events held on February 17 and March 2 and 9.

The FEI’s individual, regional and world rankings are determined from the best results from two of the three events.

In the Category A, with jumps between 1.20metres and 1.30m, the Aon Trophy was awarded to first place winner Philip Correia and his talented chestnut stallion Emerson, who had a cumulative result of zero faults and cumulative time of 99.88.

In the Category B, with jumps between 1.10m and 1.20m, the Nightmare Trophy was awarded to Courtney Bromby riding Worth the Wait after scoring zero faults and a time of 104.96.

In the Category C with jumps between 1m and 1.10m, the Central Carolina Trophy was awarded to Cody Rego riding Casanova, who had a score of zero faults and a time of 108.33.

All three competitors and their horses will now go on to represent Bermuda at the 2019 Jumping World Challenge TEAM event.

Judging the final phase of the competition were judges Sara McCartney of Trinidad and Bermuda’s own Judy Hagen.

Bermuda must now wait until the end of the year to discover its final and official standings in the competition as competing countries still have until December 31, in which to conclude their events.
