Tiffany Dawson wants to experience her “crowning moment” after making a meteoric rise since she started competing in fitness and beauty shows.

Dawson enjoyed a sensational debut at the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion (WBFF) competition in Dallas, Texas, last month, winning her fitness category and the overall title to earn a pro card.

She followed up with another impressive display at the WBFF World Championships in the Bahamas last weekend, where performed as a pro for the first time and claimed a top-ten finish.

Dawson had initially signed up to compete in the Bahamas as an amateur but had to switch her routine after triumphing in Dallas.

“I went into the championships without any expectations other than to do my best,” Dawson said. “It was a big learning curve for me. There’s a lot more to do, but I placed very well for my second show and pro debut.”

Dawson now intends to analyse the feedback she received from the judges as well as holding a debrief with her online coach, Alicia Gowans, who competed in the came category as the Bermudian.

Australian Gowans, a three-times WBFF world champion, is the head coach of Ally’s Angels and has been mentoring Dawson since October of last year.

“I’m definitely going to compete again,” said Dawson, who has also represented the island in CrossFit. “My nature is competitive; I’m very fitness and health orientated.

“The next step is the development stage; that’s where I’m at now.

“I’m taking feedback from the judges, the coaches, looking at the things I need to improve upon so I can bring a better physique and mindset into the next show.

“The two go hand in hand and you have to be mentally strong. It’s also important you have a good support system of friends and family.”

The 36-year-old’s ultimate goal is to win her category in a pro event and strut her stuff on the red carpet as a WBFF “queen” at the world championships.

“The WBFF is perfect for me,” said Dawson, who competed in the Night of Champions in Bermuda in 2017.

“It’s embodies everything that I love and I won’t be moving anyway [to another federation].

“It’s not your average bodybuilding like we see in Bermuda. It has a fashion aspect and is more of a pageant. It’s like Victoria’s Secrets runway show with bodybuilding incorporated into it.

“If you win your pro show you get a crown. It’s like a crown you see at a beauty pageant or Miss Universe.

“Once you get a crown you can compete at worlds as a ‘queen’. Ultimately, I would love to have a crown at the worlds and be a world champion. That’s our end game.”
