Caesar achieves personal goal in Texas
Ross Caesar achieved his primary objective competing at the “Battle of Texas” in Dallas, Texas, this month.
Even though he failed to place among the nearly 40 competitors in the classic men’s physique division, the six-times Bermuda national bodybuilding champion was still able to fulfil his mission of presenting a “better package” than he did on his debut as a professional in Ontario, Canada, last month.
“My goal here [Texas] was to improve and bring a better package and I came here and achieved what I had set out to do,” said Caesar, who placed eleventh on his pro debut at the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Pro League in Niagara Falls. “That was my goal and I did my job.”
The Ultimate Fitness Club trainer reckons that he gained valuable knowledge both on and offstage which he now intends to put to good use moving forward.
“Everything fell into place and I got to learn more about my body within the last four weeks from the last show [Ontario],” Caesar, who is from Barbados, added.
“Actually these last two shows I’ve learnt a lot in terms of the nutrition and little stuff that I didn’t know before.
“Clearly, it was well worth it with the amount of knowledge I gained and, not just on the stage, but off the stage as well and mostly in terms of nutrition and stuff that I can now apply in future competitions or even use towards my clients.
“Hopefully next year, I will take some time off to work on some foundation stuff and improve some detail areas that I need to work on and I’ll be back.”
Caesar was making his debut competing on US soil and loved each and every moment of it.
“I had never competed in the US before and it was a great experience being on such a big stage in a big show,” he said. “The coverage was good and I was able to do a lot of networking.
“As a pro, it’s everything, it’s not just about competing. It’s who you talk to and about networking and making connections because you never knew where it’s going to lead you.
“There are a lot of business opportunities as a pro athlete in terms of supplement companies and a lot of other aspects that you can branch off into. So I was able to meet a lot of people and do some great networking and overall it was a very great experience and well worth it.”
Caesar earned an IFBB professional card after capturing the men’s classic physique A class title competing at the Joe Weider’s Olympic Amateur South America in Medellin, Colombia, last February.
Sami Ghanem, of Florida, secured the classic men’s physique title at the “Battle of Texas” held at the Irving Convention Centre.
