Hall and Shorebirds’ season delayed

Adam Hall

Adam Hall and his Delmarva Shorebirds team-mates will have to wait to start their new season after Minor League Baseball’s decision to delay it until further notice because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Hall, the first Bermudian to play professionally in the United States, signed a £1.3 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles in the Major League Baseball Draft in 2017.

Chris Bitters, the general manager of the Shorebirds, a Class A Minor League team, said: “The Delmarva Shorebirds support the measures in place to protect the health and safety of our fans, employees, on-field personnel, and community.

“While we are disappointed that the season will be delayed, the unprecedented situation we are all needs our attention and adherence to the recommendations of the experts in this field.

“We look forward to playing baseball in 2020 and will announce updates on a regular basis.”
