Police, Regiment attend hurricane conference

Representatives from the Bermuda Police Service and Bermuda Regiment recently attended a conference on hurricane preparations.Regiment Commanding Officer Lt Col Brian Gonsalves and Chief Inspector Junior Watts, the National Disaster Planning Co-ordinator, along with deputy Governor David Arkley attended the meeting in Miami to discuss best practice and new developments in preparation for this year’s hurricane season.The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Royal Navy, the US Coastguard, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency and the Pan American Health Organisation.
