Tropical Storm watch cancelled
A Tropical Storm watch has now been cancelled after Gert skirted past the Island this morning.Bermuda Weather Service said Gert's closest point was abou 78 nautical miles to the east today at 10am.Winds were expected to be 35 to 45 knots (40 to 52mph).The Bermuda Weather Service forecast says trh tropical storm warning has been cancelled and adds:Public Synopsis - Tropical Storm Gert, passing to the east of Bermuda, will hold strongest winds and most showers well east of the Island, but a few gusty showers may still exist this afternoon, as moderate westerly winds develop. Mainly settled conditions are expected through the rest of the week, with a few showers possible each day, as the Bermuda high builds. Today - Mostly cloudy... Winds northwesterly light to moderate, soon increasing west-southwesterly moderate with higher gusts in any showers... High near 28°C/83°F.Tonight - Mostly cloudy with a few showers... Winds southwesterly moderate, stronger gusts around showers...
