BSBDC seminar focuses on contractor compliance

Contractor compliance will be the focus for a breakfast seminar held by the Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation (BSBDC) in Pembroke today.The event, which is being hosted at the Pembroke Sunday School, 1 Marsh Folly Road between 8am and 11.30am, will cover a range of issues from occupational health and safety requirements for the construction industry, the administration for subcontracting the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital project, and prerequisites for subcontractors tendering for projects.The seminar will feature guest speakers Derrick Simmons, safety and health officer at the Department of Health, Pat Topley, senior quantity surveyor at Trent Construction Consulting, John Shovlin, quantity surveyor at BCM McAlpine, Tee Ogunyemi, vice-president of corporate banking at Butterfield Bank, Andrew Cassidy, senior relationship manager at HSBC Bank Bermuda, and Rob Bernadino, head of business banking at Capital G Bank Ltd.It costs $50 per person and $25 for the first 50 people to register.
