Financial literacy course back for another season
The CFA Society of Bermuda kicks off its financial literary series next week, for the sixth year in a row.
The course, which offers an introduction to setting financial goals and managing personal finances, is run in partnership with the Bermuda College’s Athora Division of Professional and Career Education.
It begins on January 17 and will run every Wednesday from 6pm to 8.30pm, in person, at the Bermuda College.
Over the course of four weeks, it covers the basics of savings and budgeting and takes a deeper dive into income, expenses and debt, and provides an overview of Bermuda’s pension programme. The course explains common financial products, definitions of key terms and concepts and uses practical examples throughout.
The initiative is volunteer-led with local chartered financial analysts offering their knowledge and experience to deliver the course and provide real-life examples. It is intended to be relevant to Bermuda, wherever possible. Since its inception in 2019, the series has reached more than 200 participants of diverse backgrounds, ranging from teenagers to seniors.
