Linda Merritt is Secretary-General of the Progressive Labour Party. She is currently employed as the Assistant Vice President of Marketing at The Argus Group. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and communication from Concordia University, WI.

Linda Merritt brings her considerable experience, her forward thinking and her commitment to being a strong advocate and bridge-builder for all the residents in Devonshire South Central.

Linda maintains a broad view of the issues effecting Bermuda, and states that "the local constituency issues of Devonshire South Central are integral parts of a much broader vision which is my motivation for seeking a new beginning on how Bermudians feel about the Environment, Women and Health Care."

She believes issues such as sustaining the environment have answers through meaningful educational programmes both in the schools and other organizations. Linda has a particular interest in health care issues and states quite forcibly, "In the arena of Health Care, I fully intend to create a renewed focus on women's issues – especially single head of households, caregivers and seniors."

Linda commits to being the voice for Devonshire South Central where there are matters that potentially impact the local community.

Linda Merritt is the great-granddaughter of the late Rev. Rufus Stovell, one of the first pastors of Vernon Temple AME church in Southampton. Kareem Merritt, Linda's only son is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and is a senior corporate manager for a leading Fortune 500 company in the USA.
