Hon. Dale Butler, JP, MP

A former teacher and well-known principal, Dale is an historian, orator, and one of Bermuda's most prolific writers and publishers. Having published over 50 books, Dale is currently the Executive Director of Atlantic Publishing House, which has been publishing for 30 years.

First elected to Parliament in 1998, he was appointed Minister of Community Affairs and Sport when he was re-elected in 2003 and in 2006 he was appointed to the new Ministry of Social Rehabilitation where he currently serves.

Dale Butler was educated at Central School, the Berkeley Institute, and the Bermuda College. He earned a Masters in Education from Miami University, and a Masters in Science from Indiana University. He has successfully undertaken several courses at Vermont University, Marva Collins, and Harvard University.

Throughout his terms as a Member of Parliament, Dale has cultivated a reputation as a responsive, relentless, grassroots constituency representative who has a sincere appreciation for his constituents. His dedicated work ethic in Warwick North East has been met with success, including the installation of speed bumps at Spring Hill, the paving of the railway 'right-of- way' from Cobbs Hill to Bright Temple and the installation of 'Go Slow' signs on private roads.

Dale's commitment to his Constituency is evidenced by the numerous clinics, events and public meetings he has held including: The Annual Rubber Tree Festival, The Annual Dr. E.F. Gordon Memorial Lecture, The Annual Charles Bean Memorial Lecture, The Annual Yvonne Blackette Memorial Lecture, and The Annual Wilfred Allen Memorial Lecture. Dale meets with his constituents regularly, and realizing the importance of Bermuda’s seniors, he recently conducted a survey to properly ascertain their needs.

Dale Butler is a member of St. Paul AME Church, Leopard's Club and PHC. He is the proud father of two sons, Jay and Russell.
