Police/court building firm secures Marsh Folly project contract
The company which worked on the controversial police/court building LLC Bermuda Ltd has been awarded a $3.7 million contract to relocate the Marsh Folly waste management facility.The contract was given on March 29 following a tendering process, according to an announcement in the Official Gazette.LLC Bermuda was one of the firms which worked on the Dame Lois Browne Evans Building, which finally opened last month, six months later than planned and at a cost of $26 million more than initially expected.Other recently distributed contracts include a one-year $850,000 contract to Lou Hammond and Associates for public relations for the Ministry of Business Development and Tourism.A Thru Z Consulting and Distributing Inc was given a $429,000 contract, increased from $271,000, for designing, supplying and fabricating a steel roof for the new Madagascar exhibit and the Australia exhibit at Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.DeCosta Construction was given a $458,000 contract by the Ministry of Public Works to install foundations for the same project.TransCore had its $75,000 contract extended for maintaining the Electronic Vehicle Registration system for the Ministry of Transport.And Electronic Services Ltd was given a $458,000 contract, following a tendering process, to provide audio-visual goods and services for the OECD Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes.
