Heritage Month will celebrate hospitality

Heritage Month 2012 will be themed ‘Celebrating Hospitality Through the Ages’, Economy Minister Patrice Minors informed the House of Assembly.Hotels linked to the Bermuda Hospitality Institute will take turns offering events every Tuesday in May.Primary school students have been tasked with creating radio jingles on the theme, Ms Minors added.An event celebrating seniors in hospitality is planned for May 10, while May 20 will feature a presentation on the Bermuda Railway at Number Six Shed.Ms Minors also detailed the route for the Bermuda Day Parade.The May 24 route starts at Bernard Park, proceeding along Dutton Avenue to Marsh Folly, then to Cedar Avenue and onto Church Street, continuing to Court Street and down to Front Street.The parade along Front Street will turn up Queen Street to conclude with entertainment at the City Hall Car Park.Ms Minors added: “The floats, which I am sure will be most spectacular this year, will be on display in front of City Hall throughout the afternoon for all to view.”
