The Progressive Labour Party has reserved two blocks of Court Street around the party’s Alaska Hall headquarters for a public celebration of the election.Court Street will be closed today to traffic, from Ewing to Elliott Street, between 3pm and midnight.A City of Hamilton spokeswoman explained that the Corporation approves street parties once an organisation has obtained permission from police. However, a spokesman for the PLP said an advertisement on Friday for an “election victory party” was erroneously worded by the Corporation of Hamilton.
