New Progressive Labour Party MP Jamahl Simmons was sworn in this morning as the Opposition representative for Sandys South.
The Constituency 33 MP, approved in Tuesday’s by-election, took the oath of allegiance after being led on to the floor of the House of Assembly by Marc Bean, the Opposition leader, and Party Whip Lovitta Foggo.
Mr Simmons’s parents, along with wife Sherri, looked on from the gallery as the new MP embraced colleagues and took his seat on the Opposition side.
