The Senate debate on sweeping reforms to the Island’s criminal justice system has been deferred for the second week.
The changes, some of which raised concerns from the Bermuda Bar Council, are contained in the Disclosure and Criminal Reform Act 2015 and the Criminal Jurisdiction and Procedure Act 2015.
Both were on for a second reading on today’s order of business for the Senate. They were passed over at the request of Government Senator Georgia Marshall.
