The 2016 Census is scheduled to begin in May, with a greater emphasis on online surveys.
Speaking in the House of Assembly today, Michael Dunkley, the Premier, said the census will be run from May 21 to December 31, collecting information about the island’s population and housing stock.
“Census data is used to devise effective strategies relating to infrastructure, education, health, employment and other economic and social issues,” he said.
Mr Dunkley said the survey will cost the Bermuda Government an estimated $1.7 million, which is $1.2 million less than the 2010 Census.
