Burt outlines four ministerial staff hires

The Premier has hired no additional personal staff since last October’s General Election , the House of Assembly has been told.

David Burt last month listed four ministerial advisers taken on since March 8, 2019.

He said Trina Bean was hired as an adviser and aide at the public works ministry on a salary of $9,886 a month.

Dennis Pitcher was hired at a fintech adviser to the government at $9,034 a month.

Two people were identified as personal staff - Jache Adams, who became the PLP MP for Pembroke West in the last election, was taken on by the finance ministry in May last year at $8,900 a month.

Mr Burt added that Zarena Lindsay was hired last September for the labour ministry at $86,338 a year.

Gabriel Abed is an unpaid digital technology adviser to the Premier and Carika Weldon, also unpaid, is the science adviser to the Government.

The details were revealed last Friday in response to Parliamentary questions from Michael Dunkley of the One Bermuda Alliance.
