Cabinet talks Throne Speech priorities at annual retreat

The opening of the next legislative session is set for November 3 with the reading of the Throne Speech, David Burt revealed on social media.

The Premier posted on the platform X that Cabinet ministers had “convened during our annual retreat to discuss and review priorities”.

Wayne Furbert, the transport minister, reacted with surprise when asked by The Royal Gazette if there had been any items on his wish list for the ministry.

Mr Furbert declined to discuss the meeting but added: “I enjoyed the lunch and breakfast.”

The Premier wrote: “It was a great day of team-building and engaging discussions about initiatives to drive further economic growth, increase affordable housing, provide relief from inflation, improve government customer service and advance healthcare reform.”

The speech from the throne, read by the Governor, lays out the Government’s legislative agenda at the opening of the new parliamentary year.
