Jarion Richardson finally minted as One Bermuda Alliance leader
Jarion Richardson has been elected by acclamation as the new leader of the One Bermuda Alliance after he received no challenges for the post.
Mr Richardson was appointed as interim leader when Cole Simons stepped down from politics this year and he confirmed last month that he would be standing for the leadership role.
A vote will be held next week to determine who will fill his former post of deputy leader as Susan Jackson and Ben Smith have thrown their hats into the ring.
A statement from the OBA added that four candidates are in the running for deputy chair of the party, with Elizabeth Deacon, Joseph Marable, Ikeysha Wales and Kim Wales vying for the position.
Aguinaldo Medeiros, the OBA chair, is set to remain in that position until his tenure ends next year.
The party’s annual conference is scheduled to be held on Monday at Pier Six on Front Street. The conference will be open to OBA members only.
Those who are interested in attending the conference are invited to register online at oba.bm.
