Overseas arm of US Democratic Party forms Bermuda chapter

The official Democratic Party arm for Americans living outside the United States, Democrats Abroad, has established a chapter in Bermuda.

Lorie Overstreet-Squire, who leads the chapter, said: “The most critical issue for us right now is to provide information on how to vote from abroad to all our fellow Americans living here.

“We want everyone to know they can easily participate in the US political process from Bermuda.

“It’s important to know that you don’t need a current US address to vote.”

Ms Overstreet-Squire said Democrats Abroad worked with votefromabroad.org, which helped voters with registering to vote and with requesting an absentee ballot.

She added: “You can register to vote from the state you last lived in, and votefromabroad.org will guide you through the process step by step.

“Our commitment is to strengthen democracy and ensure that the voices of all Americans living abroad are heard.”
