Kameron Fox, an independent election candidate for St David’s (Constituency 3), has announced that he is quitting his bid for Parliament in the General Election on February 18.

The Parliamentary Registrar confirmed that Mr Fox had officially withdrawn his nomination.

As a result, the remaining candidates contesting the seat are Maurice Foley, of the One Bermuda Alliance, Lovitta Foggo, of the Progressive Labour Party, and Shakera Richardson, of the Free Democratic Movement.

Mr Fox confirmed to The Royal Gazette that he had posted a statement on social media highlighting that was required to withdraw under electoral rules — or resign from his government job with the Department of Parks.

The statement added: “This was a very hard decision to make, but I had no other choice. I promise that I will continue to do my work and return twice as strong in the next General Election.”
