The Nonprofit Alliance has congratulated the Progressive Labour Party on its re-election.

The organisation, which represents the interests of the third sector, said it looked forward to working with the Government to “strengthen Bermuda’s non-profit sector and advance solutions that support a more equitable and thriving community”.

Nicola Paugh, the executive director of the Nonprofit Alliance, said the organisation remained dedicated to the sector’s “crucial role” in tackling social challenges.

She said: “We look forward to Premier [David] Burt fulfilling his election promise to work with all interest parties and key stakeholders and we remain ready to work with the Government to ensure the right voices are at the table to build a better Bermuda.”

The alliance congratulated all the candidates who participated and said a strong democracy was built on open dialogue, diverse perspectives and active civic engagement.

A spokeswoman added: “We express our gratitude to all who attended our Pre-Election Forum on Social Policy Positions, where candidates and non-profit professionals engaged in meaningful discussions on issues that impact Bermuda’s most vulnerable populations.

“We appreciated hearing candidates’ perspectives on how to address complex issues in our community such as the cost of living, health and mental health, as well as education and inequality.

“These discussions underscored the importance of robust data and collaboration to address the needs of our community effectively.”
