Wilton Reinsurance Bermuda Ltd has had its financial strength rating upgraded to A (excellent) from A- (excellent) and issuer credit ratings (ICR) to “a” from “a-” by AM Best Co.Affiliates Wilton Reassurance Company, Texas Life Insurance Company and Wilton Reassurance Life Company of New York have also had their ratings upgraded. The outlook for all ratings has been revised to stable from positive.The rating upgrades reflect Wilton Re’s successful execution of its business plan, which has resulted in continued growth in earnings and operating efficiencies, said Best. Moreover, Wilton Re maintains strong risk-adjusted capital ratios, supported by a conservative investment portfolio.
