Alterra Capital Holdings Ltd has announced the appointment of Melissa Sturtecky as regional vice-president of Alterra USA.Doug Worman, CEO of Alterra’s US insurance operations, said: “We are pleased that Melissa Sturtecky is joining Alterra USA. Melissa is a well-qualified and experienced underwriter with a track record of producing profitable business and we expect she will be a valuable addition to our executive liability team. As we continue to build out our executive liability capabilities in the US, Melissa will oversee expansion in the central and western region.”Ms Sturtecky has more than 12 years of management liability underwriting experience, most recently as a regional vice-president of the executive assurance division of Arch Insurance Group. Prior to joining Arch, Melissa started her insurance career at Gulf Insurance Company. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Risk Management and later received her MBA from Depaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.She will be based in Alterra’s Chicago office.
