Big Bermuda contingent expected at WCF
A big number of Bermuda’s re/insurance executives are expected to be in attendance at the 21st annual World Captive Forum conference held in Miami at the end of this month.The event, which will be hosted at the city’s Doral Gold Resort & Spa from January 30 to February 1, will offer a number of workshops and educational seminars on the global captive insurance industry, including a new session on reputational risks.Among the keynote speakers will be Joe Plumeri, chairman and CEO of Willis Group Holdings plc, and Clyde Wardle, senior emerging markets currency strategist for HSBC Holdings plc.The special hot topics round-table, “Reputation: The Next Disaster”, will address questions and concerns about how to manage headline-grabbing exposures and respond to calls for greater transparency.Also at the conference, Archer Daniels Midland Co will be recognised with the Award of Excellence with Michael Lusk, vice-president of insurance and risk management at ADM, will accept the award on behalf of the company.The award recognises the parent of a single-owner captive and its representatives for thought leadership in the global use of a captive insurance company, contributions to the enterprise’s strategy, objectives and businesses in the field, and contributions to the risk and insurance profession with regard to captive insurance.For more information email info[AT]worldcaptiveforum.com or visit www.worldcaptiveforum.com
