Bermudian Campbell promoted to CRO at Endurance
Bermudian Nicholas Campbell has been promoted to chief risk officer for Bermuda-based re/insurer Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd.Mr Campbell, who will also have the title of executive vice-president, will be responsible for Endurance’s company-wide enterprise risk management activities.In this new role, he will report to Endurance’s chief executive officer David Cash, also a Bermudian, and will work in partnership with Endurance’s chief actuary.“Nick brings to this role a unique blend of actuarial credentials, structured finance expertise, and underwriting experience,” Mr Cash said. “I am confident that these skills combined with his demonstrated leadership abilities will serve us well as Nick extends our enterprise risk management framework across the full range of risk generating activities within the company.”Mr Campbell joined Endurance’s Worldwide Reinsurance operation in November 2009 as senior vice-president and head of Specialty Treaty Reinsurance in Bermuda, where he was responsible for leading Endurance’s Workers’ Compensation Catastrophe, Clash, Political Risk, and Aviation treaty reinsurance product lines.Previously he served as chief risk officer and chief actuary for RCS Ltd, a Bermuda participant in the structured credit, finance and insurance collateral markets.Mr Campbell started his career at Towers Perrin in the United Kingdom, returning to Bermuda in 1999 where he held several actuarial and consulting positions, including vice-president and actuary with Centre Solutions and senior vice-president and chief actuary with Ace Capital Re.Mr Campbell is a graduate of Cambridge University, a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
