Canopius acquisition of Omega delayed

Bermuda-based Omega Insurance Holdings has announced that its acquisition by Canopius Group will be completed by the end of August — a month later than originally planned.It says that it has made significant progress in satisfying all the regulatory conditions and requisite approvals.The settlement of cash consideration by Canopius will take place within ten days of the acquisition taking effect.Omega had stated in a circular posted to shareholders in May that it expected the Acquisition Effective Date (AED) would be on or before July 31, 2012.The company told shareholders on Friday that it now expects the AED to take place before the end of August and says it will update shareholders as soon as the final acquisition date is confirmed.
