Hiscox recruits ex-Ironshore executive Keith

In response to growing opportunities in the US healthcare liability insurance market, Hiscox Bermuda’s healthcare team has appointed Justin Keith as vice-president — healthcare.Based in Hiscox’s Bermuda office from January 1, 2013, Mr Keith joins from Ironshore where he was vice president — underwriter, with a wide range of responsibilities across the underwriting of hospital professional liability and healthcare risks. He was also a co-founder of Ironshore’s Chicago office and a member of the start up IronHealth team.Prior to Ironshore, Mr Keith’s 13 years of experience also includes a medical professional underwriting role at CNA.Commenting on Mr Keith’s appointment, Ian Thompson, senior vice-president — healthcare, said: “Healthcare liability insurance for larger risks in the US such as hospitals, allied health and physician groups has been a strong underwriting performer as a class.“The natural growth of our team here in Bermuda is based upon our comfort in this market and an aim to continue the expansion of our US healthcare book.“Justin brings a strong record of innovation, an important distinction for our business, and will be a welcome addition to our team as we look to take advantage of market opportunities in 2013.”Mr Keith added: “Hiscox’s healthcare team in Bermuda has rapidly established a name for itself in the US medical professional liability market and I am looking forward to joining the team and helping to build on their growing reputation.”
