Hiscox Re beefs up senior management
Hiscox Re has beefed up its senior management with two appointments announced today.
Reeva Bakhshi has been named chief financial officer and Paresh Thakrar as chief operating officer.
Hiscox brought together its global reinsurance operations under the Hiscox Re banner last year and appointed Jeremy Pinchin as its Bermuda-based CEO.
Ms Bakhshi will be based at the company’s Bermuda headquarters in Wessex House, on Reid Street, Hamilton. She previously held a number of high profile roles within Hiscox, latterly as finance director for Hiscox Europe. She joined Hiscox in 2006 from Ace.
Mr Thakrar, who joined Hiscox last year as head of strategy and business analysis from McKinsey and Company, will be based in Hiscox’s London office. As well as McKinsey, he has previously worked for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and UK Ministry of Defence across a range of national defence issues.
Hiscox Re CEO Jeremy Pinchin said: “We formed Hiscox Re as a direct response to the fundamental changes which are challenging the traditional reinsurance model. Both Reeva and Paresh will bring a great deal of strategic know-how to our business as we continue to adapt to take advantage of the opportunities in this new market environment.
“They will be a great asset to our business and I look forward to working together as we take Hiscox Re to the next stage of our development.”
