Bermuda re/insurer Argo Group International Holdings Ltd has hired Kurt Elia as senior vice-president and chief human resources officer.

Previously, Mr Elia led the global human resources function at another Bermuda re/insurer, Endurance Specialty, after serving in senior human resources positions at Citigroup, Capital One and IBM.

Mr Elia will report to Argo Group chief executive officer Mark Watson.

“Attracting, developing and retaining top talent is central to everything we do at Argo,” said Mr Watson.

“Kurt’s expertise in this area and his experience leading global human resources functions will greatly support our strategic objectives. We’re very excited to have him join our executive team.”

Mr Elia earned a degree in industrial and labour relations from Cornell University. He is also certified by Columbia University as an executive coach.
