July sees eight insurance registrations
A total of eight insurance company registrations were confirmed in July, the Bermuda Monetary Authority reported.
Class two registrations, which are required to maintain minimum capital and surplus of $250,000, include Pomorum Insurance Company Ltd and Coastal Properties Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd, while Picadilly Insurance Company Ltd has come in as a class three, which requires it to maintain minimum capital and surplus of $1 million.
Vanbridge Life and Annuity Company Ltd is a C class insurer, which must maintain minimum capital and surplus of $500,000.
Intermediaries include Equinox Alternative Investments Services (Bermuda) Ltd, registered as a manager, Clearwater Partners Ltd has registered as an agent, while TigerRisk Partners Bermuda Ltd has registered as a broker. Hoplon II Insurance Ltd is a new special purpose insurer for Bermuda.
Now at seven months into 2014, Bermuda has registered 41 new insurers, along with a total of 11 intermediaries: four agents, four managers and three brokers.
