The BFIS Alumni Committee is to offer the kind of financial help with education that benefited its members on their way to careers in the insurance industry.

The BFIS Alumni Scholarship will be first awarded this year to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS).

The scholarship will be presented to Bermudian students to assist with their studies in pursuit of a business or insurance-related career and will be funded entirely by BFIS alumni. The committee aims to raise enough funds to award a scholarship valued at $20,000.

There are 163 BFIS graduates and interns who are now working in the insurance and reinsurance market. All of them are invited to a BFIS alumni event at Muse next Thursday, January 28.

Alumni “are invited to share a drink with fellow alumni, network and learn how you can give back through the BFIS Alumni Committee”, a statement released last night said.
