Insurance captive manager Marsh IAS has appointed a new chairman and head of office.

Jill Husbands has taken over as chairman, while Lawrence Bird has become head of office.

Ms Husbands will focus on strategic growth client relations and will continue in her role as country corporate officer for all Bermuda-based Marsh & McLennan companies.

In his new role, Mr Bird will be responsible for growing the Bermuda operations.

Chris Lay, president of Marsh Captive Solutions, said: “Jill and Lawrence are both longstanding leaders at Marsh IAS and influencers in our industry.

“We are delighted to announce these appointments, which are reflective of Jill and Lawrence’s accomplishments.

“These appointments will further reinforce our position as leaders in Bermuda, the world’s largest domicile for captives and position us well for future growth and development.”

Mr Bird moved up from his role as client leader, where he was responsible for service provision by client service teams.
