Ironshore names new global property CUO
Ironshore has named Shawn Homand as chief underwriting officer of global property.
Mr Homand will be based in the Bermudian-based insurer’s Boston office. The company said he will oversee underwriting responsibilities and global product growth strategies throughout Ironshore’s property platform.
Mr Homand has worked in the property risk industry for 30 years. His previous role was property underwriting officer, Americas Region for AIG Property and Casualty, directing underwriting activities throughout the US, Canadian and Latin American regions. Previously, Mr Homand had been the national branch property manager for Lexington Insurance Company and regional vice-president for Japan and Korea property at AIG.
He will report to Tony Mammolite, Ironshore’s president of global property.
Mr Mammolite said: “Shawn’s recognised expertise and deep rooted knowledge of complex property risks will prove invaluable as we continue to meet coverage challenges within this fluctuating sector of the insurance market.”
