The head of Bermudian-based insurer and reinsurer Argo Group has won a business award in the US.

Mark Watson was picked as winner in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Central Texas region in the transformational CEO category.

Mr Watson, who was born in Texas, said: “It is in Texas that I first learnt the values of courage, original thinking, commitment and excellence — values that influence every decision we make at Argo Group.

“I am truly grateful to the panel of judges who have recognised my role in supporting the talented, enthusiastic professionals who make Argo such a success worldwide.”

The awards were set up by international professional services firm EY in 1986 to honour company heads who had made significant contributions to the success of their firms.
