Lancashire Holdings Ltd has appointed a new underwriter at its Cathedral underwriting operation in London.

Jon Barnes will join Cathedral to lead its underwriting of property treaty reinsurance business for Lloyd’s of London Syndicate 2010.

Mr Barnes has more than 25 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market and joins Cathedral for the post of deputy active underwriter for Syndicate 2121.

Richard Williams, the active underwriter for Cathedral Syndicates 2010 and 3010 said: “Jon’s broad market experience and in particular his knowledge of property lines will strengthen our reinsurance offering. Jon will also make an important contribution to the structuring of our Lloyd’s and Group outwards reinsurance programmes.”
