Intrepidus hires Gouveia-DeSousa as broker
Intrepidus Insurance Services, an insurance broker, has appointed Bermudian Edward “Eddie” Gouveia-DeSousa as broker. Intrepidus is a full-service independent insurance broker firm created to assist individuals and businesses in understanding, evaluating and navigating their insurance needs.
As an Intrepidus broker, Mr Gouveia-DeSousa works one-on-one with clients to assess their insurance needs and advise them on the most suitable insurance plan, ensuring that they understand the terms and cover provided.
In addition, he is available to provide assistance with claims adjusting and risk management advice. This can help clients devise new ways to mitigate risks and better protect their assets, for example, by adding security measures such as fencing, surveillance cameras or lighting to commercial properties to reduce the likelihood of a break-in.
Prior to joining Intrepidus, Mr. Gouveia-DeSousa served as an internal auditor at Capital G, where he performed internal audits across various lines of business. He has also worked as an associate broker for Aon Bermuda where he was responsible for research and broker support.
“Eddie is a valuable addition to Intrepidus and I warmly welcome him to the team,” said Henry Sutton, president of Intrepidus. “Navigating one’s insurance options can be daunting and working with an experienced, independent broker, like Eddie, will help our clients to make informed decisions that ultimately will help their families or businesses through all aspects of their insurance.”
Mr Gouveia-DeSousa earned his Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation and is currently working towards a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from The University of Western Ontario in 2006.
Intrepidus is independent from any insurance company and all of its services are free of charge to customers. The company’s services are available to business owners, families and private individuals.
