XL Catlin names new investment chief
Insurer and reinsurer XL Catlin has appointed a new chief investment officer.
Andre Keller will take over the role from Benji Meuli, who retires at the end of this year.
Mr Keller moves to the new role from his job as head of global asset positioning and a managing director at XL Catlin and will report to XL Group’s chief financial officer Peter Porrino.
Mr Porrino said: “The fact that we are able to fill this role from within demonstrates the high quality of talent here at XL Catlin.
“Benji has been a valuable confidant to me and while we will certainly miss his astute advice and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement, we are pleased that Andre is willing and able to step into the CIO role.
“We are confident that with his extensive experience, Andre will transition smoothly into the role and provide strategic investment insight and guidance to our leadership team.”
Mr Keller, who will be based in New York, has held a number of senior roles at XL Catlin and elsewhere.
He was formerly head of the chief investment officer office and deputy chief information officer at Catlin Group.
Earlier, he was head of asset management and deputy chief investment officer at National Suisse in Basel, Switzerland and has also held senior asset management roles at Swiss Re.
