Management changes at Hamilton Re
Reinsurance firm Hamilton Re yesterday announced a new recruit and management changes.
Minesh Shah has joined the firm in the newly created role of senior vice-president, actuary.
He will report to chief risk officer Pete Skerlj.
Mr Shah has more than 20 years’ experience in reinsurance, with a focus on risk and capital modelling, reserving, business planning and regulatory reporting.
He has worked in both Bermuda and the UK with Platinum Underwriters, Renaissance Re and XL Catlin.
Richard Sammons, who joined the firm in 2014 as senior vice-president, specialty, has been appointed head of specialty, with executive responsibility for the firm’s specialty book of business.
And Sam Thomsen, who also joined Hamilton Re in 2014 after two years as a consultant, will take the newly-created position of senior vice-president, head of technology.
Mr Thomsen has more than 25 years’ experience in building software and managing information systems.
