Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Argo has appointed a new head for Latin American business.

Jorge Luis Cazar Leon will lead operations insurance and reinsurance operations in central and South America, reporting to Argo’s head of international Jose Hernandez.

Mr Hernandez said: “Argo Group has built an impressive international platform and I’m pleased to have Jorge join the team.

“His strong leadership skills and experience fully align with the international growth aspirations we have strategically established for the company.”

Mr Cazar, who has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, joins the firm from Chubb, where his last post was division president for international accident and health.

Prior to that, he held a series of management roles in Chubb, Ace and Cigna International.
