Ascot’s Conway joins Neon in Bermuda

Company news: Chris Fisher, the CEO of London-based insurer Neon is thrilled that Chris Conway has joined Neon Bermuda

Global insurer Neon has hired a new staff member, boosting numbers to seven since the office opened just over a year ago.

Chris Conway has joined the firm in the property reinsurance team, which creates business for Neon’s Bermuda office through US brokers.

Chris Fisher, chief executive officer of Neon, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Chris to Neon Bermuda and he joins the number of high-calibre appointments we’ve made since opening the office in 2016.

“Chris’s hire will further build on our significant progress to date and emphasises our desire to expand our US book of property business.

“His broad experience will prove invaluable in supporting the expansion of Neon’s underwriting platform in Bermuda as we continue to enhance and diversify our capabilities.”

Mr Conway will report to Neon’s head of property reinsurance Nick Pritchard.

Mr Conway, who joined Neon from Ascot Underwriting Bermuda, has wide experience of underwriting traditional and collateralised US and international property catastrophe, retrocession, property per risk and insurance linked securities.

Neon operates in the specialist Lloyd’s market and underwrites a range of property, specialty, casualty and marine risks on a direct and reinsurance basis.

The company, based in London, is part of the Great American Insurance Group, whose members are subsidiaries of US-based American Financial Group, and insurance holding company with assets of more than $55 billion.
