Global insurance and reinsurance broker Lockton has hired Gareth Davies — the former chief executive officer of JLT Bermuda — as senior vice-president, property, Bermuda.

Mr Davies, who has more than 20 years’ experience as a property broker in Bermuda, was head of RK Harrison Bermuda, before he joined JLT.

Philip DiMeglio, Lockton Bermuda’s managing director, said: “We’re pleased to have Gareth join our growing Bermuda team. He’s a strong addition to Lockton’s international placement, and our clients will benefit from his expertise, particularly in light of the recent catastrophic losses from storms, earthquakes and fires.”

Mr Davies will focus on expanding the business, with special attention to the property space.
