Hiscox Re Insurance Linked Strategies, the ILS asset management arm of Hiscox, has appointed Ben Fox to its Bermuda-based ILS investment team as portfolio manager, subject to Bermuda immigration approval.

Dr Fox was formerly with Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where he served as principal of Insurance-Linked Securities since July 2014. In this role he co-managed the Plan’s ILS portfolio and was responsible for all analytics including portfolio construction and optimisation capabilities.

Dr Fox holds a master’s degree in earth sciences and a PhD in seismology from the University of Oxford.
