Aon Benfield is to bolster and expand its team on the island with new hires, a new management structure and a new chief executive officer.

The reinsurance broker and capital adviser has attracted Matthias Meyenhofer from rival Guy Carpenter to join the firm as CEO on September 1.

Mr Meyenhofer was head of EMEA global clients at Guy Carpenter, having previously held the position of CEO at ACE Tempest Re Europe, as well as other senior positions within the industry.

Furthermore, Tony Fox, currently chairman of Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty Bermuda, will become chairman of Aon Benfield Bermuda.

At the same time, Jonathan Davies, a member of the Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty executive in London, will relocate to the island as of April 1 to become head of Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty Bermuda.

The moves aim to optimise the increasing opportunities for clients and markets to deploy capital and expertise on the island, Aon Benfield said.
