Symms takes Fidelis reinsurance relationships role
Bermudian-based Fidelis has named John Symms as head of outwards insurance.
The company said Mr Symms will co-ordinate all aspects of engagement with reinsurers across all segments of the business.
The aim is to support the growth of Fidelis’s reinsurance partnerships and the increasingly important quota-share relationships across multiple lines of business.
Mr Symms will works with Phil Vandoninck in his role as chief executive officer of Socium, Fidelis’s partnerships pillar.

Mr Symms said: “I understand Fidelis devotes extensive resources to provide cutting edge tools for outwards analysis and reporting and I’m looking forward to utilising the tools to provide market leading information to our partners.”
Phil Vandoninck noted: “Fidelis has a large number of reinsurance partners over 20 classes of business. This requires us to focus resources on the entire outwards process from broker and counterparty selection to placement and reporting.
