Employees of Bermudian reinsurer Athene Life Re have clubbed together to donate more than 8,000 basic necessity items to struggling households.
The items were given to charity Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda, which is distributing them.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “After learning many individuals were facing a pressing need for toiletries and food items, the Athene Charity Committee hosted a drive that collected over 8,000 items for Bermuda families.
“The items were recently delivered to Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the organisation has set up an in-office grocery store where individuals can ’shop’ for what they need.”
In addition, the Athene Charity Committee also donated $5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
