Clay Rhoades takes new role with Hamilton Insurance Group
Bermudian-based re/insurance outfit Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd has appointed Clay Rhoades as president of Hamilton Managing General Agency Americas LLC.
In this newly formed role, Mr Rhoades will report to Hamilton chief executive officer Pina Albo and will be a member of her group executive team.
He will focus on the further expansion of its US specialty insurance businesses written across its group platforms. The company added that his appointment reinforces Hamilton's commitment to the US specialty insurance market as it continues to build a global specialty insurance and reinsurance organisation.
Ms Albo said: “I'm thrilled that Clay has decided to join Hamilton. His knowledge and relationships will be instrumental not only as we grow our existing business, but also as we thoughtfully expand our product offerings in the US. Clay's leadership will provide the springboard we need to advance our US build out at an ideal time in the market.”
She added: “Clay joins a strong underwriting operation in the US, which has recently expanded to include environmental liability and transactional liability and will look to attract new talent for targeted lines of business."
Mr Rhoades comes to Hamilton most recently from Kinsale Insurance where he was senior vice-president of commercial property/inland marine. Prior to this, he was SVP of Kinsale’s professional liability, management liability, and public entity segment.
Before Kinsale, the company said Mr Rhoades spent several years in increasingly senior positions at Argo Group, profitably developing a number of specialty lines of business.
