Bermudian-based Mosaic Insurance has added two industry veterans to its London underwriting team with the appointments of Anna Jay and Christopher Webb.

Ms Jay joins the new global specialty insurer as SVP, head of professional liability, after 18 years spent working across the specialty sector with a core focus on the product line, the company said.

Her appointment continues to build out Mosaic’s expertise in the class, following last week’s announcement of Danny Clack as deputy active underwriter.

Mosaic said Ms Jay’s career in the London market began as a specialist-placing broker, before she moved to underwriting, spending a decade at QBE International.

She later joined Pembroke Syndicate 4000 at Lloyd’s in 2016 and served as divisional director of professional lines for the syndicate.

Mr Webb joins Mosaic as SVP, underwriter, financial institutions, reporting to Chris Brown.

The company said he has nearly 40 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market, first as a financial institutions placing broker, and later as an underwriter in the sector.

He has spent the last 13 years as a senior underwriter for Syndicate 4000.

Since its start on February 4, Mosaic said it has assembled a team of leading underwriters to build out its chosen specialty product lines that demonstrate both current global relevance and growth trends.

Professional liability and financial lines join Mosaic’s existing portfolio of war & terror and political violence, political risk, and cybersecurity.
