Arch Re appoints leading local executive as CFO
Veteran Bermudian re/insurance executive Vanessa Hardy Pickering has been appointed chief financial officer at Arch Reinsurance Ltd.
The appointment becomes effective September 1.
Ms Hardy Pickering will report to Jerome Halgan, chief executive officer of ARL.
The company said Ms Hardy Pickering is an established re/insurance executive with a track record of supporting strategic growth plans, assembling and leading strong teams and serving as a trusted business partner to a variety of stakeholders.
Most recently, she served as CFO for Hamilton Re Ltd and group treasurer for Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd. She has also held senior financial roles at Ariel Re and Rosemont Reinsurance Ltd.
Mr Halgan said: “Vanessa is highly regarded in the reinsurance community because of her depth of knowledge and ability to navigate our complicated and fast moving industry.
“Arch Reinsurance Ltd has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years with the help of an improved market and will greatly benefit from Vanessa’s knowledge of the Bermuda market and experience with global reinsurance companies’ opportunities and challenges.”
Ms Hardy Pickering said: “ARL is one of the strongest franchises in Bermuda and has a very thoughtful strategic plan in place. I’m looking forward to leveraging my background and expertise to help the team achieve its goals.”
Arch Reinsurance Ltd is part of Arch Capital Group Ltd.
The company said it provides a sound, flexible market for large lines on selected property, casualty, speciality and multi-line reinsurance contracts.
