Strategic Risk Solutions, the independent insurance company manager with an operation in Bermuda, has appointed Kathryn Anderson to the position of director in SRS’s European Consulting Practice.

Ms Anderson, who joins the company next month, will report to Derek Bridgeman, managing director and European Risk Consulting practice leader. She will be based in the United Kingdom.

Mr Bridgeman said: “I am thrilled to welcome Kathryn to the growing SRS team.

“Having worked alongside her at Marsh, I saw first-hand Kathryn’s ability to understand a client’s objectives at all times and, through an analytically-driven feasibility process, provide them with risk financing solutions tailored to their risk profile.

“The current insurance environment demands a more sophisticated approach to insurance so the expectation from our clients and prospects for enhanced consulting support is stronger than ever. Kathryn will be a great fit with SRS, playing a pivotal role in helping captive owners to continually challenge the status quo.”

The company said Ms Anderson joins SRS after 24 years with Marsh UK. For the last eight years, she worked in Marsh’s Captive Advisory Practice, consulting with global clients across many industries about how captives and other formalised risk retention structures can add value to the business.

Clients included businesses looking to establish a new structure as well as companies wanting to ensure that maximum value was being derived from an existing vehicle.

From 2000-2019, the company said Ms Anderson worked within the Marsh Business Analytics team, using statistical methods to summarise, interpret and forecast data. In addition, she combined financial modelling techniques with her deep business and insurance knowledge to produce optimal risk strategies for a wide range of clients.
